Why this exists
Interviews compress. You will be asked "what port is that?" or "how would you check it?" and you want a two-second answer, not a paragraph. These three pages exist so you can drill recall rather than re-read chapters.
How to use it for revision
Tip
Cover the tables and try to answer from memory. Reading a table teaches you nothing; recalling one does. Use Lab 5 for the timed, spoken version.
The twenty questions
If you can answer these cold, you are ready:

- Which port does DNS use? 53 (UDP for queries, TCP for transfers)
- What does a 169.254 address mean? DHCP failed
- What does DORA stand for? Discover, Offer, Request, Acknowledge
- Difference between refused and timed out? Nothing listening vs a firewall dropping
- What does
gpresult /rtell you? Which policies applied, and why - What is the difference between NTFS and share permissions? More restrictive wins
- What is Kerberos? Ticket-based AD auth; passwords never cross the network again
- /24 usable hosts? 254
- What is a snapshot? Point-in-time state, not a backup
- RPO vs RTO? Tolerable data loss vs tolerable downtime
- What does a truncated ping mean? An ICMP-unreachable response came back
- Hub vs switch? One collision domain vs one per port
- What is the native VLAN? The untagged VLAN on a trunk
- What does
w32tm /resyncfix? Clock skew breaking Kerberos - Which event IDs suggest a failing disk? 7 and 51
- What service must be running to print? Spooler
